Happy Birthday to my Mom,or as you Aussie's would say, Mum.

I think my Mom must have planned it out this way,
so that she would always get presents and good wishes for 2 days in a row.
After celebrating a 40 year wedding anniversary yesterday,
today she celebrates her own birthday.

this rainy chilly autumn day reminds me of the time ...

I went to Christchurch, New Zealand with my long time Best friend, Emily. She had come to visit me in Melbourne about 6 months after I moved here to Australia. Emily and I have known each other for a lifetime, through a lot of bad and a lot of good. While she was here I had to do my usual 3 month off shore trip to keep my Visa valid. Although Emily and I had both done some traveling around Europe, we had never actually traveled anywhere together. Although it rained and was chilly and I nearly got deported, I have nothing but happy memories from this trip.

When we arrived in Christchurch in late April 2009, it was a cold, rainy autumn night. We made it from the airport to the hotel, took a brief walk around the square and then called it a night. We awoke to a hazy cloudy drizzly day, but the city still had so much beauty to show us. I feel so lucky to have been able to see such a beautiful city, with heaps of charm and character, sadly since these photos were taken this gorgeous place has endured numerous severe earthquakes, devastating the city. This church no longer stands.

To think that all of these wonderful places we spent our time at have been part of such a tragedy, and some of them are gone. While watching the news footage after the most recent quake, I saw the front of this building where we had breakfast. I only hope everyone made it out safely and that they are able to rebuild.

The charm this city had is what put it's spell on me. We just wandered around looking at the amazing stone and brick work on the old buildings.

At some times you almost felt like you'd stepped back in time.

Rainy days aren't always bad days.

Amazing bright fall colors

I have an obsession with trees, but this one is absolutely amazing.

Thank you Christchurch for all your beauty,
I wish you strength in a time of healing.

These boots are made for selling...

I've just recently started a new job, working as the Sales and Customer Service Manager for Bennetts Boots. It's a great company formed by Amanda Bennetts, all because she couldn't find boots that fit. This business has grown a great deal in it's short lifetime and has a million more miles to go! On the verge of U.S. and U.K.website launches, this company is in a very exciting place right now.I know there is a lot of work ahead but I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes, and wearing some sweet boots while I'm at it!

These are the boots I have one today, well.. been pretty much everyday because I have been living in! They are called Louvre's, and also come in Dark Chocolate. I literally only take these off to sleep... and sometimes wonder how they would look with my pajamas.
